Despite the grim looking sky our complete planting group turned up last Sunday, rearing to get started on the first leg of our plants and bulbs planting session. Thanks to some much needed Ward funding we were able to invest in a number of 'permanent' plants and evergreens for our raised flower beds, which we hope to combine with bedding plants to create a nice year-round display. We were also given a hefty number of bulbs that needed to go in the ground. We worked our way from St. Edmunds and Lagoon Dry Cleaners up towards the top of Old Church Road (of course with a warmly anticipated coffee stop at La Rocca in between), cleaning and clearing the beds and planting plants and bulbs till we had none left: Phase One succesfully completed! It was another one of those unforgettable days, working hard but with a laugh and a giggle, rounded off under the most glorious hot autumn sunshine, just perfect! Phase Two will follow shortly so watch this space
